Create an Oregon Writer's Project
Similar to the Federal Writer's Project that put thousands to work during the Great Depression, the Oregon Writer's Project would provide a creative outlet and income for hundreds of unemployed workers. Participants would be sent into their communities to engage in conversations and conduct interviews with everyday people. Their writing would be published on an Oregon Writer's Project Website, in physical books and small zines/pamphlets, as well as in e-book form, with all proceeds returning directly to the writers/workers. These works would help create dialogue and community between a wide swath of Oregonians who wouldn't otherwise interact.
