further advantages: if businesses will not come to Oregon, then this is a way of getting employees to out of state businesses by working long distance. this is also a way of bringing money to Oregon. NO fees to employees, but fees to client companies. that money could feed back into the consultancy and provide actual salaries and benefits to employees.

telecommute would primarily mean work from the consultancy office with the client company, although in some cases telecommuting from home could be an option. Providing an office setting for telecommuters is essential so employees have oversight and community.

hire local professionals to work online with client agencies, i.e non-profits in Washington DC. instead of using temps or independent contractors. Employees would be employed by one organization based here in Portland, and the organization works with client agencies across the US and internationally.
